Why Professional Packing Matters
Correct materials and techniques reduce damage risk, speed up handling at terminals, and prevent rejections by carriers or customs.
Lower damage risk
Triple-wall (five-layer preferred) cartons, rigid shrouds and corner boards stop punctures and edge crush. Correct H-taping and void fill eliminate internal movement.
- 3–5 cm cushioning on all sides
- “Do Not Stack” cones for top-load control
- Anti-slip sheets under pallets
Faster terminal handling
Proper palletising, banding and clear labels help terminals and carriers move your cargo quickly with fewer manual checks or re-pack needs.
- Straps (PP/PET/steel) over corner boards
- Stretch-wrap with overlap onto pallet base
- Readable labels on ≥2 sides
Compliance & acceptance
ISPM 15 wood, correct pallet height and non-stackable marking reduce refusals, surcharges and delays during road/air/sea transport.
- ISPM 15 heat-treated timber
- Pallet height limits per route
- Centre-of-gravity and “This Way Up” arrows

- Non-stackable loads may be charged at a higher volumetric rate due to space taken.
- Use a Do Not Stack cone/cap only when necessary; ensure the top is rigid (top sheet).

Case Studies
Real-world examples of how professional packing cuts damage risk, speeds terminal handling, and passes acceptance on the first attempt.
EU Retailer — Mixed Electronics, 1.6 m Pallet
- Challenge: Thin OEM boxes collapsed under top-load; repeated re-wraps at terminal.
- What we did: Added five-layer corrugated shroud, corner boards, anti-slip sheet; two cross straps (PP) and full stretch-wrap with overlap onto pallet base; clear Fragile/This Way Up labels.
- Result: First-try acceptance, no re-wraps, stable load through line-haul.
Private Client — Glass Cabinet to UK
- Challenge: Fragile glass doors and shelves; risk of corner crush.
- What we did: Disassembled hardware; wrapped panels in paper + bubble; sandwiched glass between rigid cards; five-layer shroud and ISPM 15 crate; shock/tilt indicators; photo report.
- Result: Delivered intact; easy reassembly using photos and labelled hardware bags.
Manufacturer — 420 kg CNC Component
- Challenge: High centre of gravity; container road–sea transit with multiple handlings.
- What we did: Base blocking & bracing; corner boards; steel cross straps; rigid top cap; COG marking and This Way Up arrows; container lashing plan with dunnage bags.
